A mystery brain tumor has left a North St. Paul man paralyzed from the waist down.
A spokesman for St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Duluth said Tuesday that doctors diagnosed the patient with a malignant brain tumor.
They’re waiting for further tests before determining whether the tumor has spread.
The hospital released the following statement Tuesday: “The hospital has not found any evidence of brain tumor in the patient.
He is receiving care at home with supportive care, and has not had any complications from his illness.”
The St. Charles County Medical Examiner’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The patient is in stable condition and is expected to survive.
